Choosing a Practitioner

Choosing the right Reiki practitioner for you, whether for sessions or classes, can make all the difference in your experience. Here's some tips for choosing the right practitioner for you:

Sessions

- Ask what the practitioner's level of training is. They should be 2nd Degree or higher.

- Visit their space or ask to see pictures. Be sure it's a place you feel comfortable and safe.

- Ask about their practice. Choose someone who keeps up their own daily practice.

- Ask about the price of the session and how long the session will be. Some will offer 45 minutes of table time and others offer a full hour. Some will go longer than that.

- Pay close attention to the feeling that you get talking to them. Reiki requires full relaxation, so make sure you feel comfortable enough with them to fully let go.

- Avoid anyone who says they can heal you for a set price or a certain number of sessions.

- Notice if they refer to themselves as a healer or a facilitator. When it comes to Reiki, we can only heal ourselves and hold space for others to do the same. Someone who claims to be able to heal you may be working from ego instead of love.

Classes

- Ask the practitioner's level of training. They must be a Master Teacher to offer attunements.

- Ask if they offer group or individual training and decide which is right for you.

- Ask about the curriculum they use and choose a teacher who has written their own.

- Ask about their practice. Choose someone who keeps their own daily practice.

- Ask what their availibilty to you will be after the class is over.
