How Many Sessions Do I Need and How Often Should I Have Them?

These seem to be the two most asked questions when it comes to Reiki. The answer is, it's up to you.


Whether your goals are physical, emotional, mental or spiritual, Reiki is going to go where it's needed and work for your greatest good. You may find that what comes up during or after the session is different than your expectations, but may be the area that needs healing before your other healing goals can be reached. When thinking about how many sessions it will take to reach your goals, it's important to remember that if there is a recurrent issue you're dealing with, it took a certain amount of time or a specific traumatic event for it to reach the level it is now. It will also take a certain amount of time to heal it. True healing doesn't happen overnight.


When under medical care, Reiki is an excellent complimentary therapy that may increase the effectiveness of your treatment, especially in terms of the mind, body, spirit connection. Reiki is never a replacement for medical or mental health care.


Reiki has a cumulative effect. The more Reiki you experience, the deeper the experience will be and the longer the effects of the session will last. I personally encourage people to establish a regular interval of at least monthly. Sessions meant for self-care are just as impactful as sessions centered around a specific healing goal.


Reiki is a transformative practice that can not only heal what we carry with us, but help us to live a more harmonious life all together.
